How to find the amperage of your home's electrical service

Your amperage can typically be found in one of two places. First, check your electrical panel for one switch that’s bigger than all the rest and often at the very top – if you see one, this is your “electrical main.” If not, go to your electrical meter and look for a gray box – inside is your electrical main switch. Either way, the number printed on that switch is your home’s amperage. Still unsure? It’s okay to skip for now!
